Louis-Victor Bak
Born in France and currently based in London, Louis-Victor Bak is a solo and chamber music pianist. After starting the piano at the age of fourteen, following seven years of flute studies, Louis-Victor was taught by Chrystel Saussac at the Conservatoire de Lyon (CRR), and Laurent Boullet in Berlin. He moves to London in 2019 to study at the Royal College of Music with Edna Stern. In 2023, he graduated with a Bachelor of Music and is now pursuing his studies for a Master of Performance under the guidance of Edna Stern and Vanessa Latarche, as an Ilona Eibenschutz Award Holder.
Louis-Victor has recently performed as a soloist at La Seine Musicale, St James’s Piccadilly, and Steinway Hall UK. He has performed in the United Kingdom (St Mary’s Perivale, St Paul’s Bedford, St Alfege Greenwich, St James’s Bushey, St Bride’s, St John’s Waterloo, St James’s Paddington, the Russia Culture House in London, Routh Hall Bromsgrove), in France (Salle Witkowski, Palais St Jean, Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs de Lyon, Salle Debussy), in Spain, in Poland, in Sardinia and in Switzerland. In 2023, Louis-Victor appeared alongside Mathieu Herzog and the Appassionato Orchestra ; in 2022, he was invited to perform with Paul Jenkins and the Knighton Chamber Orchestra in Leicester. Louis-Victor is regularly invited to play at various festivals, including the Mosaic Festival at Villa Ephrussi in 2023 and the second Prokofiev Festival in London in 2021.
Over the years, Louis-Victor has had the opportunity to attend masterclasses and to study with Stanislav Ioudenitch, François Dumont, Piotr Paleczny, Dina Yoffe, Bruno Rigutto and Vanessa Latarche. In 2022, he joins the Debussy promotion of the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky where he benefits from the advice of Cédric Tiberghien, as well as that of Nemanja Radulovic, Anne Gastinel and Philippe Jaroussky in chamber music.
In 2021, Louis-Victor was awarded the 1st prize at the “North International Competition”, the 3rd prize at the “Windsor International Piano Competition” (1st prize not awarded), the 2nd prize at the “Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition”, the 2nd prize at the “International Music Competition Opus 2021” and the special prize “Debut in Transylvania – Recital award” at the “Youth of Music International Competition”.
In 2022, he is also selected to take part in the prestigious Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona.
Louis-Victor Bak is an artist of Talent Unlimited UK and The Keyboard Charitable Trust. He is a 2022 recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society Julius Isserlis Scholarship.
Pianiste français basé à Londres, Louis-Victor Bak est à la fois soliste et chambriste.
